Good morning friends,
Spring is moving along fairly quickly over here at Yoders’ Farm, and just like the past couple of years we continue watching the strawberry plants grow, blossom and set fruit.
We’ve heard from several of you wondering if we’ll even have strawberries this year, or if we lost them all in the couple of cold spells over the past number of weeks. The answer is we will absolutely have strawberries this year! Though we did lose some of the earliest blooms, the plants are loaded up with what appears to be an excellent crop.
We will still be on the early side this year and will likely be ready to open the strawberry patch for PYO in two weeks (perhaps a bit less), and we wanted to let you know that it won’t be too long yet so that you can be thinking about making plans to come out to the farm in a couple of weeks.
If you do want to visit between now and then, the Farm Store is open at the following times.
- Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.
- Closed Sunday and Monday
We’ve got plenty of hydroponic tomatoes right now, as well as the normal staples of the Farm Store, jams, jellies, honey, the occasional baked items and an assortment of other things.
So… keep an eye out for another post from us before too long with a final date/time of opening the patch as well as details about his years PYO strawberry season.
As always, you can follow along at the following places where we’ll be updating somewhat more frequently.
We look forward to a lot of you visiting during strawberry season!
A good Wednesday to each of you,
Eldon for Yoders’ Farm
