Good morning everyone,
In today’s conversation we talk about the different seasons that we offer produce and activities here on the farm. Then towards the end we put some blind folds on and try a pretty simple taste test of a number of the jams and jellies that we sell here in our Farm Store.
In a nutshell, here are the things that we offer and the times of year that we offer them.
Tomatoes: (November – June) We try to start picking tomatoes in early November, but some times it can be later in November till our hydroponics start to really ripen. These tomatoes are sold here in our Farm Store as soon as they start ripening and we take them into June or so.
Heirloom Tomatoes: (May – June) We’ve only been growing Heirlooms tomatoes for a few years, but they generally start to come in some time in May and we’ll sell them for a couple of months.
Strawberries: (May – June) Typically we open the strawberry patch for pick-your-own in early May and go into June a little bit. There are a lot of variables on both ends of this season, so its difficult to pin down exact dates.
Sweet Corn: (June – July) We plant our sweet corn in such a manner that it tends to come in a bit early. We’ll have sweet corn for a number of weeks until its finished.
Pumpkins and Corn Maze: (End of September – October) Our fall season starts towards the end of September and goes till the end of October.
Once the fall season is over we regroup and get ready to start the entire process over again. 🙂
Hopefully that all makes sense! If not, feel free to comment below and we’ll try to clarify things.
As always, thanks for reading/watching and we’ll be back next weekend with another installment of Conversations with Yoders’ Farm.
