Good morning everyone,
Today marks the end of the first week of our 2015 pick-your-own strawberry season – and it’s been a pretty crazy week!
That’s a good thing. I think…
It also means that there are a few things you should know.
We’ve Had a Lot of Pickers in Here
As a lot of you who have been here have noticed, you were not alone. There have been a lot of people out here picking berries. It really is good to keep the patch clean and so far we’ve been able to do that (with your help of course)…
This also means that the picking is a bit more sparse than it was earlier in the week – but there are still plenty of berries to be had. You might just have to look a bit harder than you were planning on looking.
We plan to be open today just like normal (8 a.m. till 7 p.m.) but you should probably check Facebook if you are coming later in the day, just in case we get picked out early this afternoon and need to close the patch before 7.
Food Will Be Available Today (Rosie’s Cozy Kitchen)
Some friends of ours run a small sub shop/bakery in Gladys… they will be here today (May 16) and probably next Saturday as well. They’ll have food available for you to purchase and enjoy.
What will they have?
- Subs & Sandwiches (Ham/Turkey/Italian/Chicken Salad)
- Pie by the slice
- Potato salad
- Macaroni salad
- Chips
- Drinks (Soda/Sweet Tea/Lemonade)
- And probably some things I’ve forgotten
They hope to be ready to start serving you folks a bit before 10 a.m. You should definitely go like their Facebook page.
That’s All For Now
And that’s pretty much it for now. That’s the state of the pick your own patch!
Thanks,
Eldon for Yoders’ Farm
