Greetings from Yoders’ Farm,
I hope your Saturday is going well!
It is time once again for an update on where things are right now on the farm. Before we dive in though, I just want to say thanks again to each of you for your support of us as a local farm. Not only do you make this “local farm” thing that we do work… you were very kind and thoughtful through the last month or so as we lost one of the founding members of the farm.
So… thank you.
Strawberry Season
We aren’t quite ready to nail down an opening date for the pick-your-own strawberry patch (there are still too many variables between now and then), but judging by what we’ve seen so far it does look like we will be opening a couple of weeks earlier than we did last year.
Right now the plants are growing rapidly, the blossoms are turning to little green berries, and we are working to keep them all happy!
If the weather holds out we believe we’ll be able to open some time during the last week and a half of April.
Tomatoes, Jams, Jellies
We do talk a lot about strawberries at this time of the year, because that’s a really big part of our spring, but it isn’t the only thing that we have available in the spring.
The Farm Store is open right now (Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.) and we have plenty of vine ripened hydroponic tomatoes available, along with a good selection of jams, jellies and honey.
So don’t forget about those things in the next couple of weeks as we look forward to strawberry season, and then as we get into strawberry season…
Wrap Up
And I think that’s about it for now.
As always you can keep up to date with all things Yoders’ Farm on Facebook, here on our website and now even Instagram! Facebook and Instagram is where day to day things will be posted… but we’ll be sure to post here on the blog as well once we do finalize our opening date for the strawberry patch.
Till then, feel free to let us know if you have any questions and we’ll look forward to seeing you here at the farm.
Thanks,
Eldon for all of us at Yoders’ Farm
